Fiona Harris
- owner. I bought my shop in 1999 not
quite sure what I was doing. What I did find was a passion for the
ingredients mother nature has given us and how to use them.
My interest in natural therapies & aromatherapy came from
skin allergies & being prescribed pharmaceutical
drugs to help. They did not work, smelt horrible and
they were expensive, so I started to look for alternatives.
Aromatherapy has been in my life ever
since.
I have had many
varied jobs in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne including retail
sales, customer service, telemarketing, purchasing officer, switch
board operator, office temp, and in Daylesford a Bed &
Breakfast operator and working for myself has been a challenge
but also the best thing I could have done. Meeting amazing people
in the Aromatherapy field, to the wonderful local and visiting
customers. I have been lucky with the wonderful staff I have
had over the years, from which I have learnt plenty. Volunteering
is something that I enjoy and fundraising for worthwhile
charities. I hope my small contribution to the environment
helps. I subscribe to Greenpeace & try to help local
charities. Enjoy life, have fun, respect each other & mother
earth”.
After studying at Australian College of
Natural Medicine I am now a qualified aromatherapist and massage
therapist and a Member of the ATMS. I am also doing a makeup
artistry course, so after July I will be offering makeup service. I
have just started my first subject of Remedial Massage Diploma, I'm
doing this part time so I should be finished by
2012.
Stan Harris
- Stan the man does the books and all the
boring jobs like the BAS statement, reports, & loads
of other stuff I don't really want to know
about.

Sarah
- Casual: I have been a regular visitor to
Daylesford for many years collecting local mineral and spring water
and enjoy local bush walks with my young Son. Every visit is
like our first as we continue to discover more of the hidden
treasures that the area has to offer. I have a vibrant zest
for life which will see me forever learning and
developing.
A keen
interest in approaching life holistically and incorporating an
environmentally friendly direction has been a huge part of my life
since early childhood.
Upon
commencing to delve into developing my own natural skin care
products I found Daylesford Aromatherapy has the most diverse range
of both raw ingredients that I need as well as beautiful signature
products made right there in the store!
Working here
is a dream job to me as I'm inspired to continue to learn and
strive to live a conscious life.
Being a part
of the DAT team has given me the gift to flourish in my knowledge
and expertise of essential oils as well as a plethora of other
nourishing natural ingredients.
The constant
support that I receive from Fiona has allowed me to flow in the
direction of starting my own all natural skin care business;
Organic Concetps @ Home.
This
business is more than beautiful all natural products, to me it is a
way of life and a tool that I am grateful to have as it enables me
to connect to and inspire others to live a conscious
life!
Some of the
products are available at Daylesford Aromatherapy for instore
purchases.
Kate - Casual: My background is art and
science – before working at Daylesford Aromatherapy I worked as a
conservation botanist with Endangered plant species in far south
west Victoria – I’m also a botanical and wildlife artist. I’m the
one in the shop who can pronounce all those funny looking latin
plant names! I have always worked with plants; as a gardener and in
nurseries and farms around the Daylesford region and I am
constantly amazed at how many benefits and uses people get from
plants. For me, working at Daylesford Aromatherapy is a natural
extension of my interests – it helps me appreciate plants in a
whole new way; for their healing and nurturing qualities. When I am
not working in the shop I am busy illustrating a book about the
nature of the Daylesford region and enjoy walking in the beautiful
forests surrounding the town.
